Ryan Gentles and his New York firm Wiz Kid Management have joined the Management Division of C3 Presents, the independent concert promotion, event production and artist management company based in Austin, Texas.? ?
Gentles’ entire Wiz Kid Management client roster, including The Strokes, Albert Hammond, Jr., Rathborne, Nightbox, The Hunts, Streets of Laredo and School of Seven Bells, will also join C3 and remain under the management direction of Gentles.? ?
C3 also announced the addition of a New York office, which will open July 1. Based in the Nolita neighborhood at 263 Bowery, the new office will be home to several managers, including Gentles and C3 Management president Matt Shay. The office will also act as the headquarters for Cult Records, an indie label founded and run by Julian Casablancas of the Strokes, whose current roster includes Cerebral Ballzy, Albert Hammond, Jr and more.

“Having run an independent, boutique management company for well over a decade, I had recently begun exploring different options for Wiz Kid in terms of partnerships with larger companies,” says Gentles in a statement. “The goal being to offer my artists more resources and infrastructure in a time where providing such services in-house is almost mandatory. I’ve known founding C3 partner Charles Attal since 2001; he booked the Strokes’ first show in Austin, TX at his venue, Stubb’s BBQ, and Matt Shay signed my client Albert Hammond, Jr.’s second LP to his Black Seal Records imprint at RCA. So when they came to me with the idea of doing a partnership to get in on the ground floor of C3 Management’s expansion into New York City, it was an easy decision. Given C3’s massive presence in the festival world, both domestic and abroad, and the active staff that they’ve already built for their management clients, the advantages to my artists is too much to overlook. I look forward to working with Matt and the C’s to help expand the roster out of our new New York office.”? ?
Adds C3 partner Charles Attal, “We are incredibly excited to have Ryan and his roster of talented artists joining C3’s management family. Ryan has independently curated Wiz Kid into a force within the business, creating an iconic New York City institution. This is an enormously exciting partnership for us as we continue to build the C3 Management division.” said C3 partner, Charles Attal.
