Many music fans learned of the death of former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland by reading a (since-deleted) tweet from Dave Navarro at midnight Thursday. “So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight,” wrote his musical contemporary.
And Navarro wasn’t the only fellow musician who took to social media to mourn the loss of the megatalented, and often troubled, singer, who also fronted supergroup Velvet Revolver and, most recently, Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts.
The 48-year-old singer was reportedly found dead on a tour bus in Minnesota. Read reactions from Weiland’s friends and fans below.
