Sean Kingston was driving “really fast” when he crashed into a bridge in Miami over the weekend, his passenger, Cassandra Sanchez, tells TMZ.com.
They were riding with two friends, she says.
“Both jet skis pulled out of the dock at the same time and we were going so fast we just blasted past them. When we turned a corner and crashed … they were so far behind us they didn’t even see us crash,” she says.
Before hitting the bridge, Sanchez says she asked the “Beautiful Girls” singer to slow down, screaming out “We can’t fit under there? Are we going to try and go under there? Sean stop!”
She says she woke up in the water in a lot of pain. Her friend on the other jet ski raced over to try to help her out, while Kingston’s friend was trying to position the singer who he wouldn’t swallow more water.
Kingston “was coughing up blood, foam and pink stuff,” says Sanchez. When he opened his eyes, he repeated, “I’m hurting. I’m hurting”
They flagged down a nearby boat to help.
Sanchez says her ribs and her jaw are still sore, but she’s doing OK.
As for Kingston, “They have a tube down his throat so he can’t really talk, but he is lucid and understands what’s going on.”
She says doctors will keep him in the hospital “a couple more weeks.” He was most recently listed in critical condition.
Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj sent well wishes to Kingston on Twitter.
