Taylor Swift’s latest song, “Red,” hit iTunes at midnight. The song is the title track from her fourth album of the same name.
The song takes different emotions and pairs them with a color. “Losing him was blue like I’d never known,” the country-pop singer croons. “But loving him was red.”

“Some things are just hard to forget because the emotions involved with them were so intense,” Swift said Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America when she introduced the song. “To me, intense emotion is red.”
“Red” is the third song to be released from Swift’s upcoming album, slated to drop Oct. 22 (and Swift will unveil a new song every Monday on GMA until then).
The first single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” was Swift’s first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She is currently filming the music video for the track “Begin Again” in Paris.
Swift, who is famous for writing songs about past relationships, has been tight-lipped regarding the inspiration for her recent songs.
