In 1996, rapper Tupac Shakur was killed at the age of 25 in a drive-by shooting after attending a Mike Tyson heavyweight championship fight in Las Vegas. But, a decade and a half later his music is still relevant.

5) Dear Mama: In 2010, the Library of Congress added the rapper’s musical apology to his mother, Afeni, to the National Recording Registy.
4) 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted: Shakur teamed with Death Row Records labelmate Snoop Dog for this number. “He made people that were around him think,” Snoop has said of the rapper.

3) I Ain’t Mad At Cha: In another collaboration, Shakur teamed up with another of his then-Death Row Records fellow artists, Danny Boy. The pair also worked on “What’z Ya Phone #,” “Heaven Ain’t Hard 2 Find” and “Picture Me Rollin.”
2) Changes: This uplifting tome was released posthumously on the rapper’s Greatest Hits album in 1998. The song was a sample of Bruce Hornsby‘s 1986 triple platinum album The Way It Is.

(Christopher Wallace), who was also murdered in a drive-by shooting in May 1998). Featuring Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman, its his most downloaded iTunes song.
