Universal Music Group, Frank Sinatra Enterprises Team Up for Licensing Pact

Universal Music Group and Frank Sinatra Enterprises have announced a joint licensing agreement which will allow two previously separated arcs of the singer’s career to be represented together; his work in the 1960s with Reprise, owned by FSE, and his work with Capitol, which UMG wholly owns, from the ’50s.

Frank Sinatra Entertainment is the company which oversees Frank Sinatra‘s recordings for Reprise as well as films, television and other ephemera and is managed by the Sinatra family alongside Warner Music Group.

The joint releases will be put out under the banner of a new imprint called Signature Sinatra, to be managed and marketed by UMG.

“We today approach the Sinatra Centennial [Sinatra was born December 12, 1915] with an opportunity to showcase our father’s prodigious body of work to a world of new and loyal fans,” stated Nancy, Frank, and Tina Sinatra.

The agreement will no doubt yield at least one encyclopedic box set some time around Christmastime, 2015.
