Hugh Jackman did it on the set of Wolverine. The Wanted did it before the VMAs in Hollywood. And last night in New York City, Madonna finally joined the phenomenon — she collaborated with Psy in Madison Square Garden to perform the South Korean singer’s viral pop hit, “Gangnam Style.”
“Because you’ve been working so hard on smashing your egos, I have a little surprise for you. A song that I have sung for a while,” Madonna told the audience to introduce the new twist to “Give It To Me.” The crowd cheered as they recognized the first measures of Psy’s dance song, which officially holds the Guinness World Record for collecting the most “likes” on YouTube.

“You’re gonna have to help me out with everything because I’m tired and we’ve been doing this for a year!” she shouted.
The South Korean singer appeared onstage mid-song and led Madonna and her backup singers in the now-iconic corresponding dance moves. Of course, Madonna added her own spin to a few of them, including an upside-down pose with Psy at the very end of the song.
Psy also remained on the NYC stage to sing “Music” with Madonna.
