Musink Tour to feature tattoo artists, bands

Social Distortion, Motorhead to headline

Social Distortion and Motorhead have been tapped to headline the inaugural 25-city Samsung Mobile Musink Tattoo and Music Festival, which will also feature popular tattoo artist and cable TV personality Kat Von D on all dates.

An official itinerary is still in the works, but the North American trek will visit arenas, exhibition halls and convention centers beginning January 30 in San Francisco. The tour is expected to wrap March 15 at a to-be-determined venue in Los Angeles. Additional acts performing on the jaunt will be announced in the coming weeks.

Along with live music, the traveling festival will host a number of other tattoo artists from around the world, showcase various extreme sports demonstrations and have Samsung staffers on-hand to showcase new Samsung mobile phones. Kat Von D will also be signing copies of her new book "High Voltage Tattoo," due Jan. 20 via CollinsDesign.

The Samsung Mobile Musink Tattoo and Music Festival is being produced by Kat Von D, Hootenanny Festival producer Bill Hardie, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and Taste of Chaos co-producer John Reese, and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) agent Darryl Eaton.

The Musink festival concept was first realized last February with a three-day music and tattoo event at the Orange County Fair and Exposition Centre in Costa Mesa, Calif. In addition to more than 300 tattoo artists, the festival featured performances by the Used, Tiger Army and Metal Skool.
