Myxer, Mass Animation team for 'Live Music'

Short film to go day-and-date on mobile phones, theaters

Myxer, which specializes in mobile entertainment, and Yair Landau's Mass Animation, are joining forces to release the animated short film "Live Music" day-and-date on both mobile phones and in theaters, where it will play on 500 digital screens in front of the Sony release, "Planet 51."

"Live Music" was created as part of a virtual studio on Facebook, which invited artists from around the world to collaborate in the making of an animated short film. More than 58,000 fans joined the community with 51 finalist animators from 17 countries receiving credit on the film.

"Myxer is thrilled to be part of the ground-breaking collaboration, 'Live Music,' as it ties in with so many of our passions -- music, innovation and content contributions from tens of thousands of individuals," Myxer CEO Myk Willis said.

"When we were looking for a mobile partner we were looking for great technology, a large consumer audience and a passionate team to support us and Myxer has been the perfect partner," Laid, founder of Mass Animation and former Sony Pictures' vice chairman said. "We're very excited about offering our 'Live Music' fans the ability to purchase the movie for their mobile phones on the same day we are releasing the movie nationwide in theaters."
