'Naked and Afraid' Exec Joins 'Pawn Stars' Producer as Head of Development
Jason Burinescu will lead development for the West Coast offices of the ITV Studios-operated production company.
Naked and Afraid executive Jason Burinescu has been appointed head of development for West Coast at Leftfield Pictures, the ITV Studios-operated production company behind Pawn Stars. He will be based in Los Angeles.
“With Leftfield Pictures experiencing unprecedented growth – both in output and breadth of programming – we felt this was the ideal moment to broaden our development operation in L.A.," said David George, president of Leftfield Pictures, to whom Burinescu will report. "Jason is a powerhouse executive and producer whose expertise covers not just the unscripted world, but scripted as well. We’re confident his proven ability to create, develop and shepherd shows across genres will result in an array of series that resonate with buyers and audiences.”
Burinescu headed development for Renegade 83 Productions, where he developed and/or sold two dozen shows to more than a dozen broadcast and cable networks, 10 of which he helped create. He also spearheaded the development and sale of Discovery's Naked and Afraid. His credits include The CW's Famous in 12, a social experiment series for NBC, The CW's Capture, as well as the upcoming A&E show The Godfather of Pittsburgh and projects for TLC and Animal Planet.
Prior to Renegade, Burinescu was vp development for Intuitive Entertainment and Vision Entertainment.
