NAMIC nods to 'Cell,' 'Levees,' 'Underwood'

Showtime's "Sleeper Cell" was named best drama, BET's "Comic View With Sheryl Underwood" was chosen best comedy and HBO's "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts" was hailed as best documentary at the 13th annual NAMIC Vision Awards, held Tuesday at the Beverly Wilshire. Presented by the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications in conjunction with NAMIC-Southern California, the NAMIC Vision Awards celebrate diversity in original cable programming. Benefiting the NAMIC Foundation and its Digital Bridge Alliance, proceeds from the event will be contributed to nonprofit organizations working to bridge the digital divide in communities of color.
