Nash tops prod'n for Bushwazee
EmptyMichael Nash has been named head of production at Bushwazee Films, Samuel L. Jackson's newly named production company. Jackson signed a two-year first-look deal with New Line in September (HR 9/19).
Nash most recently was senior vp development at Landscape Entertainment, where he was responsible for the development of "The Crusaders," with Terrence Howard attached to star; "Fly on the Wall," with Will Ferrell attached to star; and "Barry and Stan Gone Wild." All three are set up at New Line.
"(Nash) has a unique vision and taste for quality and commercial projects that is compatible with mine, and I am confident we will have a prosperous future in filmmaking," Jackson said. "We look forward to forging new relationships with writers and directors as well as nurturing those that are already in place."
Before joining Landscape, Nash served two years as senior vp development at Lynda Obst Prods. Before that, he worked as an independent producer, with his company, Primal Pictures, specializing in foreign-language remakes. Nash also served as vp acquisitions at Paramount Classics and was involved with such films as "The Virgin Suicides," "The Gift" and "You Can Count on Me."
