NATPE executive to CES

Orfanopoulos new senior adviser

The Consumer Electronics Assn. has lured a senior executive at NATPE to help with its Hollywood outreach.

Nick Orfanopoulos, who left the National Association of Television Program Executives in September, has signed on as a senior adviser for CEA's Consumer Electronics Show, which will begin in January. He will focus on the content and entertainment community and exhibits.

"As the International CES increasingly becomes the 'must attend' trade show for the digital entertainment industry, Nick Orfanopoulos is the perfect fit to ensure that we continue to serve the needs of the content industry," said Karen Chupka, senior vp events and conferences at CEA.

Orfanopoulos was linked to NATPE for more than 20 years. He was senior vp conference operations and sales.

"I'm thrilled to be working with the International CES ... and to have the opportunity to continue and maintain the relationships that I have developed during my 23 years in the TV content business," Orfanopoulos said.
