NBA returns to TNT on Oct. 30


TNT will televise the first games of the 2007-08 NBA regular season with a doubleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 30, beginning with the San Antonio Spurs playing the Portland Trail Blazers at 8 p.m., followed by a 10:30 p.m. game between the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN will televise its first NBA game of the season the following night at 8 p.m., with the Cleveland Cavaliers meeting the Dallas Mavericks.

ABC will air its first games, as usual, on Christmas Day, with a doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m. With the Cavaliers meeting the Miami Heat and the second game at 5 p.m. With the Phoenix Suns playing the Lakers. In all, ABC will televise 18 regular season games.

NBA TV, which will televise 96 regular season games, will carry its first one on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:30 p.m. when the Trail Blazers meet the Rockets.

TNT will televise 52 regular season games this coming season, with 46 as part of its exclusive Thursday night telecasts, while ESPN will televise 72, which includes 27 games on Wednesday night and 36 games on Friday, and 26 doubleheaders. TNT will also televise the NBA All-Star game On Sunday, Feb. 17.
