NBC Promotes Jenny Groom in Alternative Department
She started with the network as a page in 2003
Jenny Groom is on the rise at NBC.
The executive has been tapped senior vp alternative programming and development, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Groom, who started at the network as a page in 2003 and was vp alternative programming, will now be responsible for overseeing all of development for the alternative department and shepherding new series from concept through production of the first season.
She will report to Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment and Meredith Ahr, exec vp alternative programming.
During her 11-year tenure with NBC, Groom has worked on unscripted series including The Biggest Loser, The Sing-Off and Betty White's Off Their Rockers.
