NBC Uni shakes up global channel ops

Restructure comes on heels of Weather Channel buy

LONDON -- NBC Universal, hot on the heels of its Weather Channel acquisition, has restructured its global channel operations, appointing regional managing directors for the U.K., Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Reporting to NBCU's London-based president of global networks and digital initiatives, Roma Khanna, all four will take their new posts in the fall, the company said Wednesday.

Former UKTV executive Laurence Dawkin-Jones will become managing director global networks, based in London; while Francois Roux becomes MD Europe, the Middle East and African regions. Steve Patscheck is promoted to MD Latin America and Raymund Miranda takes over as MD Asia Pacific.

The restructuring will be pivotal in driving NBC Global Network's regional strategies, Khanna said.
