NBC Universal nabs rights to 'Copper'
Acquires exclusive global pay TV rights in multiple territoriesTORONTO -- NBC Universal has picked up exclusive global pay TV rights, excluding North America, France and Germany, to the ABC/Global Television police drama "Copper" from E1 Television, as part of a deal with Universal Networks International.
ABC is to air 13 episodes of the workplace drama about five rookie cops in mid-2010, while Universal Networks International holds the rights in all other international territories.
Copper stars Missy Peregrym, Gregory Smith, Enuka Okuma and Travis Milne. Ilana Frank is executive producing.
Universal Networks International and E1 are also co-financing "Haven," the new Syfy supernatural drama.
