NBC wins Sunday with football

Cowboys-Redskins only offering to crack 2.5 in 18-49 demo

With football as the only original offering Sunday night, NBC easily dominated the broadcast competition.

The "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Dallas Cowboys 17-0 shutout of the Washington Redskins drew an 11.6 overnight rating and a 19 share, down 10% from last year's Panthers-Giants overtime game.

In the Fast nationals, which are not as reliable, the game posted a 5.8 rating among adults 18-49, which is expected to rise when final Nielsen ratings are announced.

The NFL overrun-aided combo of "60 Minutes" and the beginning of the "Jesse Stone: Thin Ice" movie rerun on CBS posted a 2.5 in the demo, as did a repeat of Fox's "Family Guy."

No other program rose above the 2.0 rating mark in 18-49, including ABC's nightlong rerun of "The Sound of Music," which posted a 1.5/4
