NBCU sells 'Minute to Win It' format to Sat.1

Shine Germany to produce for commercial broadcaster

COLOGNE, Germany -- NBC Universal and Elizabeth Murdoch's Shine have signed a deal that will see Shine's German division produce a local-language version of NBC's "Minute to Win It" format for German commercial broadcaster Sat.1.

The agreement, announced just ahead of MIPTV in Cannes next week, marks the first international sale for the NBC show, which the U.S. Network recently renewed for a second season.

Sat.1 has commissioned five episodes of the German version of "Minute to Win It," in which contestants compete in a variety of deceptively simple games for a chance at a huge cash prize. The German show, whose title translates a "The Perfect Minute," will premiere in a two-hour primetime slot on Sat.1 April 30.

Shine Germany, based in Cologne, is also adapting the NBC Universal format "Perfect 10" for Sat.1.
