NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke to Give Royal Television Society London Conference Keynote
Under the title "Full Stream Ahead," the September event will explore how new distribution platforms are affecting the production landscape, among other things.
Britain's Royal Television Society said Monday that NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke will deliver the opening keynote at the RTS London Conference in September.
"As leader of one of the world’s largest media and entertainment companies, Burke will share his views on global media trends, how NBCUniversal is capitalizing on shifts in consumer, technological and market dynamics, and his expectations for the future," the organizers of the Sept. 27 event said.
The biennial one-day conference is this year entitled "Full Stream Ahead: Commissioning, Producing and Distributing Content in an Age of On-Demand." It will explore how new distribution platforms are affecting the production landscape and what the future holds for TV.
“He is one of the most important global media leaders of the time, whose company is at the vanguard of so much exciting innovation and changing market dynamics," said RTS CEO Theresa Wise about Burke.
NBCUniversal International is sponsoring the conference, which will be chaired by Kevin MacLellan, chairman of NBCUniversal International.
Other scheduled speakers include ITV chairman Peter Bazalgette, Channel 4 CEO David Abraham, Virgin Media CEO Tom Mockridge, MacLellan and Sharon White, CEO of British media regulator Ofcom.
