Comcast also reported chairman and CEO Brian Roberts made $35 million in 2018, up from $32.5 million a year earlier.

NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke's compensation for 2018 amounted to $39.9 million, compared with $46.5 million in 2017, according to a regulatory filing from media, cable and technology company Comcast.

Burke received a base salary of $2.96 million last year, and saw his stock awards, non-equity incentive plan and other compensation remain constant, while his option awards fell to $5.3 million in 2018, compared to $15.3 million a year earlier. Burke made $46.0 million in 2016 and $33.6 million in 2015.

Comcast also disclosed the annual pay for its chairman and CEO Brian Roberts and CFO Michael Cavanagh. Roberts made $35.0 million in 2018, up from $32.5 million a year earlier. 

Roberts' base salary remained virtually unchanged at $3.2 million. The Comcast boss continued to secure most of his overall compensation from stock awards, option awards and a non-equity incentive plan roughly in line with prior-year pay packages.

And CFO Michael Cavanagh earned $21.7 million last year, compared to $20.1 million in 2017.

NBCUniversal's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in 2018 rose 4.6 percent, with Comcast's up 4.8 percent. Comcast's stock fell more than 10 percent last year.

Comcast late in 2018 closed its $39 billion takeover of European pay TV giant Sky. The company also disclosed that it will hold its annual shareholders meeting on June 5.
