NBCUniversal Hires Digital Strategist to Oversee Snap, BuzzFeed, Vox Partnerships
Laura Lee will serve as executive vp content, strategy and operations at the media company.
NBCUniversal has brought in a digital veteran to oversee its partnerships with Snap, BuzzFeed and Vox.
The media company has tapped Laura Lee as executive vp content, strategy and operations in its digital enterprises division. The newly created role will see Lee helping lead NBCU's digital strategy. She will also be responsible for growing consumption, audience engagement and monetization at emerging and existing platforms. Under her purview are NBCU's partnerships with Snap, BuzzFeed and Vox, which the conglomerate has invested in over the last few years.
"Laura's deep experience in the digital space will be a great asset as we continue to create new monetization and premium content opportunities across NBCUniversal and expand our partnerships with new media and technology companies," Maggie Suniewick, president of NBCU Digital Enterprises, said Wednesday in a statement.
Lee most recently served as president and chief digital officer of Margaritaville Media, where she oversaw content for all platforms. She also spent eight years at YouTube, where she worked to expand the North American business through partnerships with television, film, sports and news companies. In addition, Lee launched YouTube's rental business and managed relationships with Vice, Lionsgate, NBCU, CBS and others. She has also worked at MTV, VH1 and Time Warner.
Lee, who will be based in New York, will begin Monday and report to Suniewick.
