Comedian Chuck Nice is set to host the Memorial Day programming event.

Famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson is set to take part in a Memorial Day marathon of Quantum Leap on NBC's COZI TV.

Comedian Chuck Nice is set to host the marathon, which begins at 6 a.m. ET on Monday, May 25, and runs all day. Quantum Leap will then air every Sunday throughout June from 1-5 p.m. ET (with the exception of Father's Day on June 21).

Every hour of the marathon will mimic vignettes from Tyson's Star Talk Radio show and podcast Cosmic Queries. (Tyson also is the director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York.) These vignettes will feature Nice posing questions to Tyson about quantum physics, time travel and other topics.

"Quantum Leap fits perfectly within the COZI TV lineup as a fun but smart show," said Diane Petzke, director of programming and promotion at COZI TV. "As one of the country's most captivating scientific communicators, Dr. Tyson adds both an insight and humor that we know COZI viewers will appreciate." (Watch a promo below.)

Quantum Leap aired for five seasons on NBC from 1989-93. The show starred Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a scientist who found himself traveling through time and inhabiting the lives of other people while righting historical wrongs along the way.

COZI TV launched on Jan. 1, 2013, on the multicast channels of NBC Owned Television Stations and is now available in about 80 million homes nationally.
