Neil Patrick Harris Eyes Tony Awards

"How I Met Your Mother Star" in talks to return as host.

New dad Neil Patrick Harris is in talks to host the Tony Awards for the second time.

Sources confirmed the How I Met Your Mother star could host the 65th annual Tonys, set to air on CBS on Sunday, June 12 from the Beacon Theatre in New York.

Harris has a long résumé of hosting gigs: the TV Land Awards in April 2009; the Tonys in June 2009; the Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2009; and Spike's Video Game Awards in December. The song-and-dance man also kicked off the 82nd Annual Academy Awards in March 2010 with a surprise appearance in the opening musical number.

Recent speculation had centered on Daniel Radcliffe (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Robin Williams (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) and Chris Rock (The Motherf**ker With the Hat) to host the show.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone's The Book of Mormon led this year's nominees with 14.
