The clan took inspiration from the Walt Disney World and Disneyland ride for its latest Halloween costumes.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have been known to go all out for Halloween, and this year is no exception.

The couple and their 8-year-old twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, channeled Disney's Haunted Mansion ride for their costumes this year, dressing up as hitchhiking ghosts from the Walt Disney World and Disneyland attraction.

Burtka shared the costumes in an Instagram post. The photo shows the family posing in a graveyard as a spirit with a large smile creeps behind them. Harper stands in front of her family members. Dressed as the ride's iconic bride, she wears a frilly white dress and holds a bloody ax close to her body. She is covered in white body paint and wears a bright red lipstick.

The rest of the family stands behind Harper. Harris is unrecognizable as a corpse, while Burtka is hunched over in his oversized hat. Gideon rounds out the family's themed costumes dressed as a sinister ghost.

"Welcome, foolish mortals," Burtka captioned the photo. "We hope your Halloween is happily haunted, but heed this warning: beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts!"

Harris previously discussed his love for the Haunted Mansion while appearing on The Late Late Show in April.

"I love stuff from the Haunted Mansion. The Haunted Mansion in Disney is, like, my favorite thing ever," said Harris. "It just fits into my Scooby-Doo/murder mystery wheelhouse. And so I try and acquire as many things that are from the actual Haunted Mansion as possible."

"There was an auction in L.A. a couple years ago, and I bid on — and won — one of those Haunted Mansion stretching portraits. You know in the first room when you go in and they say, 'Is this haunted room actually stretching or is it your imagination?' I got one of the original stretching portraits. It's a bearded guy and he's in boxer shorts and he's standing on a TNT barrel!" he continued. "I just wanted to get it and I spent way too much money on it, because I was just bidding on an app. I won't say how much, but it was way too much."

The family chooses a specific theme to dress up as each Halloween. In 2014, the family dressed up as characters from Batman. Gideon went as the superhero, while Harper dressed as his sidekick Robin. Harris went as The Riddler, while Burtka went full out for his costume as The Joker.

The family's theme for 2016 was classic Hollywood. Harris and Burtka channeled Groucho Marxo and Charlie Chaplin, respectively, while Harper dressed up as Marilyn Monroe and Gideon went as James Dean.

Last year, the family went as members of a freak show circus. Harris dressed up as a ringmaster, while Burtka channeled a deranged clown. The twins dressed up as a muscle man and a bearded lady to pull together the theme.
