Netflix Debuts Patriotic Mashup of 'House of Cards,' 'War Machine' (Exclusive Video)
For the Fourth of July holiday, the streaming giant combined two of its hit properties into a new video.
Netflix is celebrating the Fourth of July holiday with a patriotic mashup of two of its more popular pieces of content.
The streaming giant created a video that mixes its film War Machine with scenes from the hit series House of Cards, debuting exclusively here at The Hollywood Reporter.
House of Cards, which had its fifth season land on Netflix on May 30, stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as the manipulative, power-hungry couple that has climbed their way all the way to the White House. War Machine, which debuted on Netflix on May 26, stars Brad Pitt as Gen. Glen McMahon, who is sent to lead troops in Afghanistan but finds himself to be the one under attack.
"We are proud to say that War Machine has active soldiers, veterans as well as folks in policy circles including at the Pentagon abuzz with its timely subject matter and has received the support of the Iraq and Afghan Veterans of America (IAVA)," said a statement from Netflix Chief Creative Officer Ted Sarandos. " As our #1 film in 190 countries on launch weekend and our highest performing Brad Pitt movie on Netflix, this bold, brazen piece of content resonates with our subscribers around the globe."
