Netflix Hires Fox Film Executive Kira Goldberg
The 'Bohemian Rhapsody' vet will report to Tendo Nagenda, the former Disney exec Netflix poached in August.
Another studio executive is joining the Netflix ranks.
Kira Goldberg, the executive who worked on Twentieth Century Fox’s current hit, Bohemian Rhapsody, has been tapped to be a film executive at the digital streaming giant.
Goldberg will report to Tendo Nagenda, the former Disney exec Netflix poached in August.
Goldberg has been at Fox since 2012 where she made her mark with all-audience, original and non-branded movies. In addition to overseeing Rhapsody, she shepherded the Hugh Jackman musical hit The Greatest Showman, Steven Spielberg’s drama The Post and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, the 2016 fantasy directed by Tim Burton.
Before landing at Fox, she spent six years at Dreamworks where she worked under Stacey Snider, now the outgoing 20th Century Fox chairman. It was there where she developed ties to Spielberg, which led to her acting point on Fox’s Post and Spielberg’s upcoming remake of West Side Story, which is beginning preproduction.
For Netflix, the hire continues the company’s raiding of the traditional studio world, where execs and filmmaking talent have become up for grabs.
