Time for some Maggie Gyllenhaal

Season 1 of The Honorable Woman is now available on Netflix, as of Dec. 18. The eight-episode miniseries is a Middle East espionage thriller starring Maggie Gyllenhaal as Nessa Stein.

Stein is a high-profile Anglo-Israeli business woman who inherits her father's company. She decides to transform it from a company supplying weapons and ammunition to Israel to one seeking peace by running fiber optic cables from Israel into the West Bank to promote economic growth. However, her actions come with international political turmoil as the twisty plot unravels.

The miniseries is co-produced by BBC and Sundance TV and written and directed by Hugo Blick. Gyllenhaal has nabbed Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for her performance.

Additionally, as of Saturday, Paranormal fans can start streaming Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. The fifth installment of the popular film series is a spinoff of the original movies. It centers on Jesse (Andrew Jacobs) a recent high school graduate in Oxnard, Calif. He and friend Hector (Jorge Diaz) begin their summer by goofing off before things take a dark turn for Jesse, who gets possessed by supernatural powers and begins acting erratically. Christopher Landon co-wrote and directed the film.
