Network trade group launched in France

Canal Plus' Bertrand Meuheut will head ACP

CANNES -- France's private networks have joined forces to launch a new trade organization, Association des Chaines Prives, to defend their rights and interests, the groups said Wednesday.

Bertrand Meuheut, president of the Canal Plus group, will head the ACP for two years.

All private TV networks with national coverage have joined the association, which was set up through the initiative of main terrestrial channels TF1, Canal Plus and M6.
