New Blueprint: Pair add cash to grow prod'n


TV production company Blueprint Entertainment said Tuesday that Robert Lantos and Jeff Sagansky have made a multimillion-dollar strategic investment in the Canadian company, which "plans to use the proceeds to help continue its global expansion and significantly grow its volume of production."

With the announcement, Blueprint co-founder John Morayniss will assume the role of chairman and CEO, and co-founder Noreen Halpern will serve as president, overseeing development and production. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Lantos is the founder of Alliance Communications, which he sold in 1998. Since then, he has concentrated on producing motion pictures through his company, Serendipity Point Films.

Sagansky has been CEO of Paxson Communications, co-president of Sony Pictures Entertainment and president of CBS, among other roles. He is a lead investor in companies including Peach Arch Entertainment, ContentFilm and Winchester Capital as well as chairman of Elm Tree Gaming.

Blueprint, which was established in 2002, has offices in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto. Recent productions include the N's "Whistler" and Court TV's upcoming "'Til Death Do Us Part."
