New Line Hires Writer for Action Film 'Power Down' (Exclusive)

Beau Flynn, the producer behind the company’s 2015 hit 'San Andreas,' is producing.

Benjamin August, the scribe behind the Christopher Plummer movie Remember, has been hired to write Power Down, an action movie for New Line.

The story focuses on the President of the United States who, when his daughter goes missing, declares a temporary leave of absence to take matters into his own hands. 

Scott Sheldon will oversee for FlynnPictureCo.

August was previously a casting director on Fear Factor among other shows before segueing into writing. His first script was Remember, which attracted Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan. The Holocaust drama that also starred Martin Landau premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015.
