New Line, LeBron James Score Basketball Hoax Movie
The film will be based on a video featuring Connor Toole impersonating an NBA draft prospect.
LeBron James' SpringHill Entertainment has set up one of its first feature film projects, and it's keeping the NBA star turned producer in the basketball world.
James and Maverick Carter’s company and New Line have acquired the rights to a viral video by sports website Elite Daily. It stars Connor Toole, who tricks people into believing he's a basketball player who attends the 2015 NBA Draft as a second-round pick of the Utah Jazz.
James will produce with Madica's Jeff Tahler. Carter and Shawn Sachs will executive produce.
SpringHill signed a deal with Warner Bros. spanning all areas of content creation in July 2015.
