The designer tells us he wanted his runway models to have a fresh face to balance out the retro beehive during his fall 2015 presentation.

For his models coming down the fall 2015 runway, New York-based designer Adam Selman was all about embracing natural beauty with a slight twist. "It's super fresh-faced but we wanted that Cookie Mueller hair," the designer, referring to the actress' retro 'do in John Waters' Female Trouble (1974) as well as Goldie Hawn's mod makeup in Cactus Flower (1969), told Pret-a-Reporter. "The whole thing was sort of each girl has a rotten disposition."

To balance out the over-the-top, teased hair, makeup artist Maki Ryoke kept the makeup light. She started off with the Beauty Berry shade from MAC's Fall 2015 Eye Trend Palette on the eyelid, adding a hint of the MAC Shine Mixing Medium to the ball of the lid for a shiny touch. Ryoke finished the eyes with a light coat of mascara only on the top.

"Everything seems so retro now with hair and clothes, so I wanted to have some modern feeling to the makeup," said Ryoke, who added that she wanted a "bad girl feeling" with the lips. The artist applied the Sweet Salmon shade from the MAC Fall 2015 lip palette, using her fingers to mix in the Ermine hue, a white silvery shimmer, for a "cool effect at the end."

As Ryoke puts it, "She becomes more than a bad girl."
