The designer of young fresh sportswear and dresses turns out to have a lot of celebrity friends who come to support her every year.

We expect to see celebrities in the front row of a Michael Kors show. Or a Marc Jacobs show. Or even a Marchesa show. But we were not prepared for the turnout for Nanette Lepore, a designer (with a store on Robertson Boulevard in L.A.) whose clothes are at a very reasonable price point and tend to skew torward a younger audience.

But there they were: Stanley Tucci with fiancee' Felicity Blunt (sister of Emily), Edie Falco, The Soprano's Aida Turturro and Jennifer Westfeldt, in a sleek red Lepore texture sheath dress. Unfortunately, Jon Hamm was nowhere in site.

Turns out, all are friends of Lepore's, some even neighbors. Tucci and Falco attend every show. Edie wears the clothes all the time, and was showing off her burgundy print dress -- "isn't it cute?" she asked reporters, jumping around friskily in a Nanette mini dress.

Tucci, for his part, wasn't unflappable: "I made The Devil Wears Prada," he sighed, in a crisp dress suit. "So this is hardly new for me. It's actually just like it -- there are no differences," he said, watching the hysteria from his front row seat. As many reporters wanted to talk to his fiancee' Felicity as they did to him.

The tall sister of Emily Blunt turns out to be a stunner with a great British accent and a love of fashion. What's up for Tucci next? "I'm hoping to star in and direct a play in New York," he told THR. Well, it isn't like he hasn't been in a lot of movies of late.

This was Jennifer Westfeldt's first Lepore show. "I'm getting to know her better, and I've been meaning to come for a while," said Westfeldt. "But I never got around to it till now." She ahd boyfriend Hamm live in New York when he isn't shooting Mad Men or a movie.

Lepore really supplied the entertainment for her guests: she band alterna-band Brazilian Girls play live, and the celebs were all swaying to the beat, which was far more soothing than most of the thunderous atmospheric music we heard at fashion week this time out. Michael Kors and Zac Posen were the only other shows we attended with actually pleasant happy soundtracks -- everything else was cacophonous and truly weird -- the sound of thunder clapping.

The clothes were sweet and pretty: Lepore paired a green and pink Asian style printed silk with tailored black and white check pieces. Sometimes a printed dress came out with its counterbalance of a jacket, sometimes without. And the combo of the two patterns was actually pleasing to the eye. There really was not a bad look in the bunch. These aren't really red carpet clothes -- but they are definitely the perfect clothes for an L.A. lifestyle.
