New York Jeweler Alexandra Moosally Hits L.A.

UPDATED: The designer creates mostly diamond pave figures on rose gold - and now her collection will be sold at Barneys' Beverly Hills outpost.

Ever since it launched last year, I've been a fan of New York City-based corporate- lawyer-turned-jeweler Alexandra Moosally's jewelry line. We can imagine an attorney wearing pieces layered under her shirt and jacket, while Beverly Hills boho types are drawn to the line, too.

On Feb. 2, I hosted a welcome party for Moossally at Soho House in West Hollywood to celebrate her debut at Barneys New York Bev. Actresses Emmy Rossum (Shameless) and The Hunger Games' Jacqueline Emerson — wearing a Preen dress with Casadei heels, Chanel purse and Royal Asscher ring — popped in to check it out and guests from a nearby Lucky magazine party for cover star Ashley Greene even wandered in and found themselves making purchases.

As big, statement rings, necklaces and earrings are making a re-appearance at retail, Moosally is going in the opposite direction: her delicate style is all about subtlety and wearability. There are fine rose gold chain bracelets with small black diamond pave hearts -- they're as light as a feather, and you never have to take them off. Moosally told us she never removes her pieces. She's also known for her charms in rose, white or yellow gold: carrots, cherries, apples and baby boys and baby girls.

The collection is sold at New York home-goods hotspot ABC Home & Carpet, and now at Barneys. Prices run from $475 for her evil eye bracelet up to $3,000 for necklaces.
