"These up-and-coming people need a jumpstart so that other people can see their work — and then maybe they can go on and create great things in the future."

Jeremy Jordan may be in CBS' upcoming Supergirl, but he's still the poster boy for musical theater.

The Newsies breakout of The Last 5 Years and Smash is the star of the artwork for the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival, The Hollywood Reporter reveals exclusively.

His pose mimics the artwork of many musical theater productions — despite the setting on a New York City balcony, with red Solo cups.

"I think that new musical theater is incredibly important because there are so many young artists out there that need a chance to develop their new works and find their own voices in a larger environment where they can have real professionals taking care of them and showing them the ropes," Jordan tells THR. "NYMF is the chance for those young up-and-comers to find their voice."

The annual festival, which runs July 7 to 27, will present almost two dozen productions — including Acappella; Claudio QuestHeadVoiceHeld Momentarily, Moses ManNapoleon; Real Men, a musical for guys and the women who put up with them; Songs for the Fallen; Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera; Wearing Black; Passing By and Summer Valley Fair —  as well as staged readings and the debut of brand new concerts.
