NFL on Fox wins 18-49; 'Survivor' tops viewers

NEW YORK -- Fox won Sunday's primetime in adults 18-49 with a boost from an NFL overrun, while the finale of "Survivor: China" led CBS to victory in viewers.

"Survivor" was the night's top show in viewership and adults 18-49 with 15.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/12 share in the demo, according to preliminary estimates released Monday by Nielsen Media Research. It was down 11% from last year, as was the hourlong "Survivor: China Reunion" (12.2 million, 4.8/12), which was off 12% from a year ago.

NBC averaged about 13.9 million viewers and a 4.3/11 for "Sunday Night Football," though the averages of the Washington Redskins-New York Giants game will likely go up when the final data is released Tuesday.

Most of the rest of the schedule was repeats, with the exception of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (11.8 million, 4.2/10) that slugged it out with "Survivor" and "Sunday Night Football." Fox's "The Simpsons" (10.1 million, 4.8/12) won its half-hour at 8 p.m.

Fox (11.2 million, 4.9/12) won the night in adults 18-49 against ABC (8.4 million, 2.7/7); CBS (13.9 million, 4.3/11); NBC (11.1 million, 4.0/10); and the CW (1.2 million, 0.5/1).
