NGC launching specialty channels in India

Mix of global, Indian content for quartet

NEW DELHI -- National Geographic Channel plans to launch four new specialist channels for India, pending government approval, National Geographic said Thursday.

Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Adventure, Nat Geo Music and Nat Geo HD are already beaming in Asia and will bow here "once we get the necessary clearances," NGC managing director South Asia Nikhil Mirchandani said.

Other details such as subscription revenue for the channels would be finalized after obtaining government clearance. The channels will include a mix of global and Indian content.
