'Nice Guys' Moves Up; 'Central Intelligence' Gets Release Date

Shane Black's The Nice Guys, starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, will hit theaters a few weeks earlier than expected.

Warner Bros. is moving up the release of the movie from June 17, 2016, to May 20, 2016. The studio announced it will instead open Central Intelligence, a spy comedy starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, on June 17.

Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Nice Guys follows a private eye (Gosling) and a hired leg-breaker (Crowe) who must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star.

In its new date, Nice Guys will go up against family film Angry Birds, while Central Intelligence takes on Pixar's long-awaited Finding Dory.

We’re the Millers director Rawson Marshall Thurber is helming Central Intelligence for New Line. The story centers on an accountant who, after reconnecting with an old friend via Facebook, is thrown into the world of international espionage.
