'Star Trek' Actress Nichelle Nichols Suffers Stroke
Her 'Star Trek' co-star George Takei has expressed his sympathy and support on Twitter.
Nichelle Nichols, who starred in the original Star Trek TV series back in the 1960s, has suffered a stroke.
According to a statement on her official Facebook page, Nichols suffered the "mild stroke" Wednesday night at her home in L.A.
"She is currently undergoing testing to determine how severe the stroke was. Please keep her in your thoughts," said her representative.
Nichols played communications officer Lt. Uhura on the show.
Nichols' co-star George Takei already has tweeted his support, writing: "We understand #NichelleNichols has been rushed to the hospital. We don't have any diagnosis on her condition but our thoughts are with her."
