Nick at Nite recruits 'Chris'

Nick at Nite loves "Everybody Hates Chris."

The network has snapped up cable rerun rights to the off-CW comedy series as part of a four-year deal that will see "Chris" premiering on Nick at Nite in fall 2009.

"Chris" is one of the few off-net comedies coming down the pike for cable networks looking to flesh out their schedules, and the network is believed to have paid between $300,000-$350,000 per episode. Some cable channels have even begun to develop their own sitcoms to address the dearth on broadcast (HR 2/25).

"Chris" already has been sold to numerous stations nationwide — including some owned by Fox and CBS — for its launch in broadcast syndication, which also kicks off in fall 2009.

"Chris," now in its third season, is from CBS Paramount Network Television, Chris Rock Enterprises and 3 Arts Entertainment. Co-creators Chris Rock and Ali LeRoi executive produce with Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Don Reo.

The series stars Tyler James Williams, Terry Crews, Tichina Arnold, Tequan Richmond, Imani Hakim and Vincent Martella.
