Nick taps Levy as COO of kids, family group

Nickelodeon veteran Sarah Kirshbaum Levy has been named COO of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

Levy joined Nickelodeon nine years ago and most recently was executive vp strategy and business operations. In her newly expanded role, Levy will oversee the overall finance, strategic planning and business operations for the company. She will continue to have responsibility for the day-to-day business management of Nickelodeon's finance, business development, recreation and magazine departments as well as the back-office operations for Nickelodeon's consumer products group. In addition, the company said she will serve as a "key conduit" to MTV Networks and Viacom in representing the kids and family group businesses.

Levy will continue to report to Cyma Zarghami, president of the Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group.

"Sarah is one of the most astute and strategic thinkers in the business," Zarghami said. "As our company has grown, so have the complexities of running it. Sarah is uniquely qualified to help manage our business growth moving forward and to ensure that our short- and long-term goals are being met."

Levy has overseen acquisitions strategies at Nickelodeon and MTV Networks that have resulted in the addition of Neopets, and Noggin. She also has overseen the development of Nickelodeon's long-range business and development plans and played a key role in numerous businesses, including the development of its online and wireless strategies, Web site integration and the strategic partnership in creating the first Nickelodeon-branded hotel in Orlando.

Levy also has held positions at the Walt Disney Co.'s corporate strategic planning group and worked in the mergers and acquisitions department at Goldman Sachs & Co.
