Nickelodeon promotes Mark Taylor


Mark Taylor has been upped to senior vp and GM at Nickelodeon Animation Studio.

Taylor will oversee daily operations at Nickelodeon's Burbank studio. In his expanded role, he also will be responsible for production oversight of all Nicktoon series, including "SpongeBob SquarePants," "The Fairly OddParents," Nick Jr.'s "Go Diego Go," "Dora the Explorer" and "Ni hao Kai-Lan" as well as "The Mighty B," a new series co-created by and starring Amy Poehler.

He will report to president of animation Brown Johnson and Alison Dexter, executive vp production at Nickelodeon & MTVN Kids and Family Group.

While at Nickelodeon, Taylor, who joined the company as VP and GM in 1997, created Nick University, which offers studio employees courses in management training, foreign languages, art and more.
