Nicolas Cage's 'Outcast' Secures U.S. Distribution

Entertainment One will release the action movie stateside in February 2015

Entertainment One has secured U.S. distribution rights to the Nicolas Cage-starring action movie Outcast.

The Canadian distributor will do a targeted theatrical release of Arclight Films' 12th century war romancer, directed by Nick Powell, in February 2015. The deal was negotiated by Mark Canton and David Hopwood of Atmosphere Entertainment and Larry Greenberg, senior vp acquisitions at eOne Films U.S.

EOne already has the Canadian rights to Outcast. Based on a screenplay by James Dormer, the English-language movie revolves around two jaded crusaders who wander east, finally arriving in western China, where they become entangled in romance and antagonism with local royalty.

Outcast, which also stars Hayden Christensen, in late September was pulled from release in China. The picture is a Canada-France-China co-production.
