Brown was named the head of the Sony label last year, as an executive vice president.

Sony's TriStar Pictures has officially named Nicole Brown president of the studio label.

Last year, Brown was appointed to head TriStar Pictures as executive vice president, after former head Hannah Minghella left to head motion pictures at J.J. Abram's Bad Robot. Brown will continue to report to motion picture group chairman Tom Rothman.

Currently, TriStar's slate includes the Whitney Houston biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody and The Woman King, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starring Viola Davis.

Brown, who sits on the board of Women in Film, has recent credits that include TriStar titles A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Edgar Wright’s breakout Baby Driver. Prior to TriStar, she served as an evp at Good Universe.
