Nicole Kidman returning to Broadway

She'll star in 'Sweet Bird of Youth'

Nicole Kidman is returning to Broadway.

The Academy Award-winning actress will star in a revival of Tennessee Williams' "Sweet Bird of Youth" in fall 2011, the New York Post reports. She last appeared on the Great White Way in the 1998-99 production of David Hare's "The Blue Room."

She'll play Alexandra Del Lago, an often-drunk movie star who is past her prime and hangs out with a gigolo named Chance Wayne. (The actor to play Wayne has not yet been announced.) Scott Rudin will produce.

The show was last produced on Broadway in 1975, and starred Christopher Walken. Paul Newman starred in the original 1959 Broadway production and a film version.
