Nielsen's Li joins THR as media research analyst


James Li has joined The Hollywood Reporter as a media analyst.

In the newly created role, Li will provide research insights and analytical support to help enhance the width and depth of The Reporter's stories and special reports. He also will be involved in projects related to Nielsen Business Media's strategic development and global presence.

For the past four years, Li worked at Nielsen Entertainment in Los Angeles, where he managed domestic and international film market research projects for Hollywood studios and participated in such projects as the company's initial China movie market research and a worldwide mobile game study. Before coming to the U.S., Li worked as an anchorman and producer of Chinese and English TV shows with Beijing TV in China.

Li holds a doctorate in communications from Ohio State University and is the author of several articles and conference papers regarding media economics and media effects. His dissertation is focused on Western media firms' strategies in post-WTO China. (partialdiff)
