Brian Williams Suspended: Celebrities React on Twitter
Donald Trump and actor Patrick Wilson have very different views on the 'Nightly News' anchor's punishment.
Brian Williams will be gone from the NBC Nightly News desk for half a year, and a number of media personalities are offering their opinions on Twitter.
Williams, who had voluntarily stepped away Saturday from hosting the show for an unspecified number of days, has been suspended without pay for six months. He is in hot water after telling a false story about a 2003 helicopter ride in Iraq, for which he has apologized on air.
Here is what celebrities and public figures are tweeting about this latest development.
So Brian Williams is suspended for 6 months? ASININE & RIDICULOUS. We were lied to about a WAR...and those folks seem to get off just fine.— patrick wilson (@patrickwilson73) February 11, 2015

Great comments on the #brianwilliams story. I'm more forgiving of what I've read so far, but the higher standard argument is fair. bummer.— Sean Astin (@SeanAstin) February 11, 2015
