Nike, EA Dropping Ray Rice
The former Ravens running back will no longer appear in Madden NFL 15
Both Nike and EA Sports have cut ties with Ray Rice in the wake of his NFL suspension following the emergence of shocking surveillance video that shows the former Ravens running back brutally punching his then-fiancee.
Nike has ended its endorsement deal with Rice, with a spokesman telling The Hollywood Reporter that Rice is "no longer a Nike athlete."
Ending an endorsement deal is a rare move for the shoe and apparel giant, which previously dropped Lance Armstrong and Michael Vick, who was later re-signed.
Nike is the official apparel provider for the NFL.
Rice was cut from the Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the league after the video surfaced on Monday, showing him knocking out his then-fiancee in a casino elevator.
Now that Rice is no longer with the Ravens, the virtual Rice is getting cut as well, as he'll be removed from Madden NFL 15, EA Sports tweeted on Tuesday, adding that the change will take place by Friday.

The Ravens have also announced that they will allow fans to exchange their Ray Rice jerseys, which are no longer for sale in the NFL shop and have been pulled from the shelves at sporting goods stores like Dick's and Modell's, ABC News reported.
