Noah Hawley to Direct Fantasy Film 'To Be Read Backwards'

The short-story adaptation will follow a man who begins his life at his death and learns about himself as he, and the world, unravel in reverse.

After teaming with studio label Fox Searchlight on his feature directorial debut Pale Blue Dot, Noah Hawley has set his next helming effort at Fox.

Hawley is attached to direct a film adaptation of To Be Read Backwards, a short story by Matthew Baker, for the studio. The tale follows a man who begins his life at his death and learns about himself as he, and the world, unravel in reverse, ultimately revealing humanity and mystery. 

Hawley, who has an overall first-look feature deal at Fox, will also produce the project through his 26 Keys banner with Leigh Kittay. Matt Reilly is overseeing for the studio.

Hawley is behind the X-Men series Legion and the Fargo TV series, which is in production on its fourth season, which will star Chris Rock. He is repped by CAA and McKuin Frankel.
